WHEN DREAMS COME TRUE - Michelle McKinney Hammond
Although Joseph recognized his brothers, they did not recognize him. Then he remembered his dreams about them. - GENESIS 42:8-9
People can get used to watching you go through trials so they don’t recognize the change in you when it occurs. And perhaps they don’t want to. To acknowledge your transformation may magnify all they are not. The same people who couldn’t (or wouldn’t) dream with you will surely see your dream come to pass…but not for the reasons we may think. Now is not the time to say, “I told you so.” Instead, give God thanks for all that He’s done. Thank Him for being faithful. Praise Him that He sustained you through the seasons that shook your faith at times. And as you thank Him, ask Him to put your realized dream in perspective once again. Resist the temptation to proudly hold your fulfillment over the heads of others. Everyone isn’t where you are. So thank God you are in your space and leave it at that.
What is your natural instinct when others have failed to believe with you? How can you share your fulfilled dream with grace?
PRAY THIS PRAYER WITH ME:
“Dear heavenly Father, help me remember that life is not about proving a point. Life is about doing Your will. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
