Constantly Affirm His Word · Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men (Titus 3:8).
The Christian walk is that of continual affirmation of the Word. Jesus said, "For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak" (John 12:49). Thus, what you re-echo must be the Father’s words. The Father’s words are words of the Kingdom; words of life.
When we say we have the God-life in us, or talk about being born again, or the new creation life, these aren’t religious clichés derived from philosophy. These are expressions of the Word. In Christianity, we affirm the Word; we confess the Word. Whatever we say or speak should, and must always, be in conformity with the Word of God.
Constantly affirm that you’re a new creation in Christ Jesus, infused with the life of God, not vulnerable to the crippling influences of this world! Affirm that the life of God is at work in your spirit, soul, and body. Affirm that the same Spirit that raised up Jesus from the dead vitalizes your body and invigorates you through and through, always!
Never say, "I’m sick," or "I have a headache," because sickness doesn’t belong in the Kingdom of God; it never comes from the Father. So, don’t affirm it. Don’t affirm poverty, weakness, lack, or fear. Declare that you’re bold, strong, and courageous. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." This is what you affirm. Make bold confessions that you’ve been imbued with divine life and ability in Christ.
Hebrews 10:23 says, "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised)." Hold fast your confession of divine health, prosperity, progress, and victories. Keep saying it; don’t stop talking it. Affirm what Christ has done for you, made you, and declared about you!
Prayer
Dear heavenly Father, I thank you for giving me your Word to live by. I affirm the Lordship, majesty, honour and glory of Christ over everything that concerns me: my health, academics, family, finances, and ministry. Therefore, I experience continuous victories, absolute peace, joy, prosperity, and divine health, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
