God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness.” - GENESIS 1:26
God wants us to look like Christ. This is a huge thought. We are being transformed to reflect more and more of God’s character as we mature in Christ. Our characters, our dispositions, our attitudes can glorify God when He is manifested in our lives daily. From the critical to the mundane aspects of our routines, God shows His strength. This is what makes others hunger and thirst after Him.
I so want to resemble Jesus, don’t you? Reflecting Him separates the immature from the mature. To rise above our natural inclinations and take on godly attributes is the cleanest line of demarcation we can draw between ourselves as Christians and the people who refuse to follow Christ. There needs to be something different about us so those who don’t know Christ will notice and ask us why. Then we can share who Christ is.
How do we get over ourselves so we are saturated with God’s Spirit? Through a passionate relationship with Him. Think of a couple in love who have been together for many years.
Eventually they even look related and their exchanges reveal their close relationship. Oh, to peel off the many layers of us until we resemble God so much that others are struck by the similarities! What a fantastic attainment that would be.

What stands in the way of your life revealing God to others?
PRAY THIS PRAYER WITH ME:
Dear heavenly Father, let there be less of me and more of You in my life each day. I willingly die to me so more of You will be seen by others to Your praise and glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
