Get Ready For Your Moment - Bishop T.D Jakes

You have been planted for your greater good.

The past is just that –– gone. With the new year stretched before us, every day calls for a realignment with our soul, our spirit, our purpose.

Hidden in our daily routines are new chances to reconnect with the gift of life. Instead of battling through traffic with impatience and irritation, for example, we can tap into the power of the moment by listening to an inspirational book or energizing ourselves with songs that move us.

Combating moments of stress with inspiration, laughter or gratitude supports our life’s realignment. If we are stressed we are stuck in the past, stuck in suffering, worry and pain. When we reframe this stress we literally change our brain waves. We are instantly more peaceful and better equipped to make decisions.

Meaningful change involves doing real work, every day. Yet, too often we lie in bondage to preconceived notions of how our lives should have been and can’t make forward progress.

Studies have even found that many of us sabotage our own healing, our own forward progress, by engaging in what’s called rumination. Rumination involves replaying a scenario over and over in our minds hoping to gain clarity. We think we are problem-solving when, in fact, we only extend our pain. The cycle of worry stunts our momentum.

To get ready for our moment, our alignment with our higher purpose, we must leave rumination and worry at the door.

Psychologist suggest a two-fold approach to regaining our connection with the present: using mindfulness strategies and letting go of what we can’t control.
Mindfulness

We can ask ourselves what we see, smell, feel, and taste in the present moment. We connect with the precious gift of our lives and find joy in the small details of our days.
Letting go of control

Making forward progress in life means trusting that there is a higher plan for us. We are guided by the divine blueprint of our lives. When we let go of trying to control everything we are freed to meet our destiny head on.

Never forget that we often face our greatest opposition when we are closest to our biggest miracle!

Rest assured, it’s coming and you will be ready.
