Every man's way is right in his own eyes….
Proverbs 21:2 (NASB)
You must recognize your own limitations in ministry. Unfortunately , recognizing your own limitations can be extremely difficult. People rarely accept that they cannot do certain things. People rarely accept criticisms about their person or their ability. This is proved by Proverbs 21:2.
But perhaps the hallmark of the greatest men of God is the ability to see where the gift ends and the natural takes over. The apostle Paul knew when he was outside the grace and the revelation. He often stated when he was speaking his own mind and when he was sharing from the gift he had received. For example Paul said, “Now concerning virgins I have no commandment of the Lord: yet I give my judgment, as one that hath obtained mercy of the Lord to be faithful” (1 Corinthians 7:25). This is rare. Most prophets want to extend their powers and become like super men and almighty magicians. Even though you are called you will be limited and time will prove this.
You must be humble because you do not have it all. It is wonderful to see people so gifted in one area and almost dimwitted in another. Christ is the only one who receives the anointing without measure and is the only one who needs no inputs from anyone. All of us have received a measure and do not have anything in full. This makes us need others in order to be complete. It also makes us have to relate with others whom we may have otherwise despised. This is part of God’s wonderful plan to make us the humble children we must be.
