Never Run Back To What Broke You - Bishop T.D Jakes
You are worth so much more.
It’s been said that at the end of our lives “only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.”
Have you gracefully let go, or are you still running back to what broke you?
We give our hearts, trust and time to those we love, but there are just some people that will never see you--they will never appreciate all that you have done in their lives.
Yet, we keep watering this fruitless pavement. We run back to their dysfunction; we run back to their chaos.
We fear that our lives will be unrecognizable without them, no matter how harmful the relationship. The drama is familiar and feels, mistakenly, normal. These connections, often called cyclical relationships, can only lead to continued pain. Researchers have found that running back into a relationship which has hurt you in the past will only lead to more of the same.
Resolve to never again run back to such abuse!
It has been said time and again, but remains true--self-love and self-acceptance are the key. Let’s run towards a deeper understanding of our own loving, open hearts and leave them once and for all.
