Your Life Can Change In A Moment - Bishop T.D Jakes

What happens when kindness goes viral?

Kindness is viral.
Researchers from Yale and UC San Diego found that a person’s positive actions can profoundly impact the actions of others.  The more we see others doing good, the more inspired we are to do the same.
So it was for the millions of people across the country that found inspiration in Leon Logothetis' #GoBeKind video featuring James Moss and his son Zhi.
Leon’s #GoBeKind campaign takes him across the United States as he carries out small acts of kindness for complete strangers in the hopes that this causes “a contagious chain reaction of acts of kindness”.
While in downtown Denver, Leon met a single dad named James Moss.  Leon told TDJakes.com, “I bumped into James on a corner in Denver. Right away I knew he was a special chap.  I could feel his energy...he had a heart of gold.”
James and his son Zhi moved across the country, from New York to Denver, to seek a more peaceful chance at life than he had growing up.  When he arrived in Denver the job he had lined up and his housing plan fell through.
Despite every effort to make a positive change for his family, James and Zhi were left on the streets.  They had to seek refuge in a homeless shelter.
James told TDJakes.com, “We were there at the shelter for three weeks.  I wanted to get out of there and find my son a home.”

Leon gave him $1,000 to help his family and paid for 7 days at a hotel so they could have a safe, clean place to rest.  Leon hoped his small act of kindness could be the fresh start James needed.
“I wanted to give him a nudge in the right direction.  I think of all the people that gave me my own little nudge in life, both spiritually and emotionally, and how much they helped me,” Leon said.

After Leon’s and James’ story went viral, a complete stranger from Kansas set up a Go Fund Me page for him.  The account has raised over $56,000 to date.
James was also offered a job in a barber shop and was able to find a home and leave the shelter.
The story doesn’t stop here.

James turned around and shared his blessing by using the funds to buy food for his homeless brothers and sisters in Denver.
James and Leon prove that even the smallest acts of kindness can have an wide, ripple effect. “We sometimes think we have to do big things, but we really need to do the little things and show up for people,” Leon said.
