The Coming Kingdom - Kerry Shook

“Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, ‘The power to rule over the world belongs now to our Lord and His Messiah, and He will rule forever and ever!’” Revelation 11:15 (TEV)
We live in a fallen and sinful world.  A world over which the Bible says, Satan is the god (little “g”) of this agewho blinds the minds of unbelievers and the prince and power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience. In 1 John 5:19 the Bible says,
“We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world [around us] is under the power of the evil one.”
The Good News is that Christ came to destroy the works of the devil and set us free!  Free from sin!  Free to be forgiven and live in victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil!  Jesus came to establish His kingdom spiritually in our hearts and, one day, physically in this world!  In John 18:36 Jesus said,
“My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, My servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now My kingdom is from another place.”
Where is His kingdom today?  In Luke 17:21 Jesus said,
the kingdom of God is within you [in your hearts] and among you [surrounding you].”
One day, Jesus will come again and establish His rule and reign over the governments of this world!  John pulls the curtains back on what is to come in Revelation 19 when he wrote:
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for He judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on His head were many crowns. A name was written on Him that no one understood except Himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and His title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed Him on white horses. From His mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On His robe at His thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.”Revelation 19:11-16 (NLT)
In that day, Jesus will assume the role as Commander in Chief of all the nations of the world!  The Bible says,
“The power to rule over the world belongs now to our Lord and His Messiah, and He will rule forever and ever!” Revelation 11:15 (TEV)
And, that’s not all!  Christ followers, in whom He established His spiritual kingdom, will rule and reign with Him!  In Daniel 7:18 the Bible says,
“But in the end the people of the Most High God shall rule the governments of the world forever and forever.”
In Revelation 3:21, Jesus told His followers that, as God’s redeemed people, we were destined for the throne!
“Those who are victorious will sit with Me on My throne, just as I was victorious and sat with My Father on His throne.”
In Revelation 5:10, the Bible says Christ followers would become “a Kingdom of priests for our God. And they will reign on the earth.”
This is the coming Kingdom! Are you ready for it?  The church today is destined for a throne when Jesus is President!
