THE FAITHFULNESS OF GOD - Michelle McKinney Hammond

The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. -GENESIS 39:2
We can be blessed in the strangest places if we’re open to the fact that God is not limited by where we are or our circumstances. Even slavery can free other things within us…if we submit to the process. I truly believe that when God doesn’t get us out of where we are, it’s because He is refining us or using us to influence other people. Contrary to popular belief, God does allow us to go through difficult circumstances for periods of time so He can finish the work of transformation.
He will allow others to be in authority over us, even if they believe everything contrary to our core values, and still bless us in that place. This is how God glorifies Himself. The Egyptians were sold on their gods. And they had hundreds of them, one for anything and everything you can imagine. Joseph had only one. I’m sure those around Joseph were in a state of dismay. How could this Israelite slave, the lowest of the low, prosper in favor and promotion? Because of the God he served! A God they didn’t know.
Joseph may have gone down to a place of low estate, but the Lord was still with Him. And the Lord is also with you where you are. He will nurture, sustain, and bless you in your situation. Look for Him in the midst of the trial and acknowledge His presence.
What or who is ruling over you right now? What circumstances do you feel you can’t change but would like to?
PRAY THIS PRAYER WITH ME:
Dear heavenly Father, help me to not despise the process of becoming. Let me sense Your presence more than before in the midst of my struggles. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
