We were not made to be self-sufficient; we were made to depend on God and to rest on His strength. God is the Shepherd of Christians and sheep do not have any defence. The strength of a sheep is the shepherd. They don’t have horns, sharp teeth or nails. If you want to know the strength of a sheep, touch the sheep while the shepherd is around. 
Family, we need God! There are times we have needs that it is only God that can solve. This verse says God is a safe place to hide, this doesn’t mean God is a place, but He dwells in a secret place. When you stand on His word, you are hiding in a place, when you believe Him, when you trust Him, when you walk in His principles; you are hiding in His place. God is a safe place to hide, and He is always ready to help when we need Him. Maybe as you are reading this, you are in trouble, you have gone left or you have done things that are not in line with God’s word; instead of running away from God, I want you to run to God! He is a safe place, and He is ready to help you in time of need. There is no need that is bigger than God, He wants to help you right now, turn to Him and you will be surprised how even though you are a long way from Him, He is ready to embrace you and give you a new beginning!
