THE REFLECTION OF INFLUENCE - Michelle McKinney Hammond
When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. - GENESIS 5:3
We have the ability to duplicate ourselves. In a sense, that’s what happens as part of my ministry. As I travel I’m always amazed when women approach me with stories about how their lives were changed by something they read in one of my books or heard in a message I shared. Even more amazing is the women who share with me that my words have influenced their decision-making process.
Some time ago “What would Jesus do?” became a catchphrase that called us to go against our natural inclinations and imitate Christ in every situation. As we did this, we became examples for others to follow. As we strive to be more like Jesus—creative, productive, holy, loving, and gracious, our lives should become contagious to others. As a single woman, the ability to bear offspring is not limited to having children. Our lives can impact those around us by enticing them to want what we have. To serve whom we serve. Based on what we reflect, people may follow our example and choose, in essence, to look like us. The mission for us is to be more like Jesus so others will see Him and desire Him. Can you imagine an earth filled with Jesus’ glory? Wouldn’t that be exciting? Oh, to be more like Christ! But better still—to cause others to see Him and choose to accept Him as Lord and Savior!
In what ways are you duplicating Christ in your social circle?
PRAY THIS PRAYER WITH ME:
Dear heavenly Father, help me be a living example of Your Son, Jesus. In His name I pray. Amen.”
