He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.” - REVELATION 21:6

God has completed everything that needs to be done for us. From beginning to end He left no stone unturned. No sentence hanging. No loose threads. And now He says, “Come, I’ve done the work to serve you rivers of refreshing. The price has already been paid. It is done.” There is a note of finality to this that suggests there is no need to ponder, wonder, strain, worry, or fear. It’s a done deal. Already settled. Taken care of. It’s time to celebrate our tomorrows and know that when we thirst for more life, love, comfort, and healing all we have to do is drink.

All our tomorrows have been provided for. Every problem solved. Every question answered. Now is the time to bask in that knowledge. And it costs us nothing. Jesus paid the ultimate price to issue that invitation to us. His life for ours. He gives freely of Himself to everyone who is weary and thirsty from their life quests. He is the oasis in the desert of our hearts. He saw us coming from the beginning. He sees the end of the matter…and all the in between…and reassures us, “It is done.” Our lives are already a finished work, though for us it’s still continuing.

Dear heavenly Father, I thirst for love, for life, for so many things. Many times I’ve sought refreshment in the wrong places. Now I turn to You. Come and fill me with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
